Egypt: Egypt's Export Development Fund (EDF) announced that the medical industries sector is one of the most promising areas for boosting the nation's exports.

According to State Information Service Egypt, CEO of the EDF and the General Authority for Export Development, Hatem el Nawawy, highlighted the collaborative efforts with the Export Council for Medical Industries and other stakeholders to eliminate barriers for companies and enhance their ability to penetrate international markets. El Nawawy's remarks were made during a meeting with Mohi Mohamed Hafez, Chairman of the Export Council for Medical Industries, and Rasha Nasr, the Council's Executive Director.

The discussions during the meeting focused on evaluating the sector's performance, exploring opportunities to increase medical industry exports, addressing challenges faced by exporting companies, and enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian products globally. Performance indicators revealed that Spain, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen are the leading destinations for Egyptian pharmaceutical exports. Meanwhile, Germany, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates are significant markets for Egyptian medical supplies and devices. Additionally, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and the United Kingdom dominate the market share for Egypt's cosmetics exports.

Hafez emphasized the sector's significant potential to bolster Egypt's export growth and reinforce the country's status as a regional hub for medical industries.
