Madbouly Outlines Citizen-Focused Agenda to Boost Living Standards

Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reiterated that improving citizens’ living conditions remains at the heart of the government’s priorities, stressing the need to ease financial pressures and enhance quality of life through more efficient and accessible public services that respond directly to people’s expectations.

According to State Information Service Egypt, speaking during the Cabinet meeting, Madbouly emphasized that citizens come first at this critical stage. He acknowledged the heavy burdens Egyptians have borne due to economic reform measures, noting that it is now vital for them to witness clear, tangible improvements in their daily lives and to feel confident that the country is progressing across all sectors.

The Prime Minister called for accelerating the modernization of digital public services to simplify administrative procedures and better serve everyday needs. He also underscored the importance of expanding health insurance coverage, particularly for the most vulnerable groups, and reinforcing social protection programs to ease hardship.

Addressing price stability, Madbouly described rising costs as a major public concern, stressing the necessity of strict action against price manipulation and monopolistic practices. He highlighted the need to strengthen oversight across sectors dealing with essential goods and services, while maintaining the downward trend in inflation. He further stressed securing adequate reserves of strategic commodities and ensuring swift state intervention, when necessary, to stabilize markets in cases of supply shortages or unjustified price increases.

On the economic front, Madbouly affirmed that the government is focused on sustaining stronger annual growth rates, narrowing the budget deficit and public debt, reducing unemployment, and generating more job opportunities. He also emphasized advancing industrial and agricultural development, removing obstacles facing manufacturers, facilitating the establishment of new factories, and expanding agricultural land reclamation efforts as key pillars of the country’s development strategy.
