ITIDA CEO Inaugurates Alshaya Group’s First Offshoring Global Talent Center in Egypt

Cairo: Ahmed Elzaher, Chief Executive Officer of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), has inaugurated Alshaya Group's first Offshoring Global Talent Center in Cairo, marking the Group's 20-year presence in the Egyptian market.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the inauguration was attended by key figures including John Hadden, Chief Executive Officer of Alshaya Group; Mahmoud Sofrata, Vice President of ITIDA; Paul Morris, Chief Customer and Technology Officer; and Janset Hussein Kasht, Country Manager, Egypt. The new center provides a comprehensive range of offshore business services such as contact center operations, multilingual customer support, digital marketing, and IT solutions, thereby supporting the Group's operations and enhancing operational efficiency for international expansion.

The center delivers services powered by Egyptian talent to 16 markets across the Middle East and North Africa, as well as other markets including Turkey, Kazakhstan, Central and Eastern Europe, Greece, and Cyprus. This strengthens Egypt's position as a hub for digital and business services. The launch reflects Egypt's growing status as a global destination for technology and business services, supporting government efforts to attract investment in the ICT sector and global service delivery centers.

CEO of ITIDA, Elzaher, noted that the launch reinforces Egypt's status as a hub for IT and business services, driven by a skilled talent pool. He emphasized the rising demand from global companies to scale their shared services, IT, and operational functions in Egypt, positioning the country as a key export base for digital services and an attractive investment destination.

The milestone strengthens Alshaya Group's shared services capabilities and develops Egyptian talent in technology and operations. John Hadden, CEO of Alshaya Group, expressed pride in celebrating 20 years in Egypt, acknowledging the market's central role in regional growth. He valued the collaboration with ITIDA through the Global Talent Center for Contact and IT Services in Egypt.

Hadden highlighted the ambition and capability of Egypt's young workforce, which continues to inspire and contribute to the Group's long-term success. He emphasized the Group's commitment to supporting Egypt's vision for a digital economy as a source of pride.

Alshaya Contact and Technology Services was established in Cairo at the end of 2024, reinforcing Egypt's role in advancing the regional digital economy and outsourcing industry. Building on this, Alshaya Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ITIDA in November 2025 at the Global Offshoring Summit to strengthen cooperation in operations management, IT services, and digital capability development.

The MoU supports joint efforts in talent development, including recruitment, upskilling, and training of local professionals, enabling the Group's continued expansion in Egypt and its ability to serve regional and international markets. Alshaya Group plans to expand its Global Talent Center in Egypt over the next two years, creating over 400 new job opportunities for Egyptian talent, supporting career development and employability in the digital services sector.
