Fayoum: Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hani Sweilem visited Fayoum Governorate to inspect the condition of the water system as part of his field visits aimed at monitoring the progress of water resources and irrigation projects across governorates.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Sweilem examined the old El-Bats pumping station. His visit was to follow up on the installation of the emergency unit, review the completion of the station's intake basin rehabilitation work, and evaluate the implementation of the station's network.

Hani Sweilem also assessed the ongoing construction of the El-Hayar siphon under the El-Bats drain. This project is a segment of the "Water Facilities Rehabilitation Project" in the Tamia district of Fayoum Governorate.

Sweilem emphasized the need for the prompt transfer of the emergency unit from the El-Rayyan pumping station to the El-Bats station. With the concrete base now complete, it is crucial for the unit to become operational swiftly to enhance the water situation in the region. He also instructed that all maintenance work at the station should be finalized before the current winter closure period concludes.
