Cairo: Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Dr. Hani Sweilem announced the commencement of the first phase of a training program focused on the use of drones for monitoring the water system.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Dr. Sweilem detailed that the initiative is part of the Ministry's efforts to integrate modern technologies and accelerate the digital transformation within water resources management. The program aligns with the objectives of the Water System 2.0's second generation, aiming to enhance smart management practices.
Dr. Sweilem expressed a commitment to improving the capabilities of the Ministry's engineering and technical personnel through this program. He highlighted the importance of the safe and responsible application of drone technology, which is expected to enhance monitoring and evaluation processes, aid in informed decision-making, and support sustainable water resource management. This initiative is a critical component of the Water Resources Strategy 2050.
