Irrigation Minister Conducts Thorough Inspection of Water Systems in Ismailia and Port Said

Ismailia: Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, inspected the water systems in the governorates of Ismailia and Port Said, on Friday, to assess the current state of these crucial infrastructures. Sweilem, accompanied by Deputy Governor of Ismailia Mr. Ahmed Essam El-Din, evaluated the dredging and bank protection efforts on the Ismailia Canal at kilometer 95.50. The inspection also included the replacement and renovation works on a culvert on the El-Ferdan Canal, as well as similar activities at the mouth of the El-Shagara Canal.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Dr. Sweilem, alongside Deputy Governor of Port Said Dr. Amr Othman, also reviewed the intake of the drinking water treatment plant situated at kilometer 31.00 on the Port Said Canal and examined the ongoing rehabilitation efforts at the plant. Additionally, Sweilem inspected the El-Raswa water treatment plant located at the end of the Port Said Canal, which is responsible for supplying the city of Port Said with drinking water.

Sweilem emphasized his commitment to overseeing all ministry projects across the governorates. This includes ensuring the effectiveness of canal cleaning, maintaining and operating pumping stations, and securing safe water levels at the intake points of drinking water stations. These measures are part of the preparations for the upcoming summer season, which typically sees a peak in water demand.
