Alexandria: Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid emphasized that reducing customs clearance times is crucial for enhancing Egypt's business environment and boosting the economy's competitiveness. He made these remarks during an inspection visit to Dekheila Port in Alexandria, as part of his field tour of the governorate.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister stressed the importance of regular on-site monitoring by the ministry's affiliated bodies. This approach aims to provide better services for investors and businesses, expedite shipment clearance procedures, and ensure the availability of goods, contributing to market stability.

Alexandria Governor Ahmed Atteya highlighted the significance of ongoing coordination among all entities operating at the ports. He noted that such collaboration facilitates smooth movement of goods and enhances service quality.

Chairman of the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC), Essam El-Naggar, stated that the authority is committed to upgrading its laboratories. These facilities offer over 4,000 accredited tests, which play a vital role in accelerating inspection and shipment release procedures.
