Cairo: Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid affirmed Egypt's keenness to strengthen a balanced and sustainable economic partnership with the United States, while working to ensure a competitive environment that supports national industry and boosts Egyptian exports.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Minister made the remarks during a meeting with a US delegation comprising officials from the US Embassy in Cairo and the Office of the United States Trade Representative, as part of joint consultations on trade issues between both countries. He said Egypt is looking to expand cooperation with the US in energy, technology, agriculture, and advanced industries, in addition to attracting investments in local rare earth metals manufacturing to maximize value-added and support industrial development.

For his part, US Charg© d'Affaires Bryant Trick expressed appreciation for constructive dialogue with Egypt, noting Washington's support for strengthening trade and economic partnership between both sides, and praising Egypt's efforts to improve the business environment and implement economic reforms.
