Industry Minister Khaled Hashem Engages with Turkey’s Grok Group on New Glassware Factory Plans


Cairo: Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem met with a delegation from Turkey’s Grok Group to discuss the establishment of a new glassware manufacturing facility in Egypt. The delegation was led by Esin G¶ral Argat, Vice Chairman of Grok Group. Also in attendance were Assistant Minister for Strategic Affairs Mohamed Sami and several senior ministry officials.



According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting highlighted the Ministry of Industry’s commitment to supporting investors who are keen on creating industrial projects that enhance technology transfer and job creation, while strengthening local industrial capabilities. Minister Hashem assured the delegation of the ministry’s full support, pledging to coordinate with relevant authorities to overcome potential challenges and expedite the project’s operational phase.



Hashem pointed out that the Egyptian government provides a comprehensive package of investment incentives to the industrial sector, considering it pivotal for economic development. He emphasized that Grok Group could particularly benefit from export-related incentives.



Esin G¶ral Argat expressed Grok Group’s dedication to expanding its investments in the Egyptian market, identifying Egypt as a strategic location for the group. She noted the country’s role as a significant export gateway to the Middle Eastern and African markets. Argat also mentioned that Grok Group ranks as the world’s fifth-largest producer of glass products, exporting to nearly 140 countries globally.
