Moscow: Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem emphasized Egypt's commitment to fostering industrial and technological cooperation with Russia and Muslim countries during the 'Russia-Islamic World: Kazan 2026' forum in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. The event was attended by ministers, senior officials, and representatives from economic and industrial institutions across these regions.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Hashem noted the progress in Egyptian-Russian relations, supported by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The cooperation extends beyond traditional trade to include industry, energy, technology, food security, and supply chains.
Hashem outlined Egypt's strategy to position itself as a regional industrial and logistics hub, leveraging its strategic location, trade agreements, and infrastructure. He highlighted the Russian Industrial Zone in Ain Sokhna as a key project, with Egypt ready to facilitate its development.
The minister also pointed to collaboration opportunities with Tatarstan in engineering industries, petrochemicals, and technology, praising the region's industrial advancements and export-oriented manufacturing success.
