Cairo: Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah el Din Moustafa asserted the ministry's commitment to implementing the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to localize advanced manufacturing technologies across various sectors. The goal is to increase local component, generate added value for the national economy and simultaneously undertake comprehensive development of the ministry's affiliated companies and units, he said.
According to State Information Service Egypt, these efforts aim to improve production processes, raise quality standards and upgrade workforce capabilities in addition to enhancing the role of military production in meeting the needs of the Armed Forces and police, as well as contributing to national and developmental projects. The minister made these remarks during a surprise inspection visit to Helwan Company for Engineering Industries (Factory 99). The visit aimed to assess operations and follow up on the progress of ongoing projects being implemented in cooperation with various state institutions.
He also aimed to ensure the enforcement of ministerial directives previously issued during earlier site visits. During his tour, the minister inspected the company's production lines and workshops. He listened to a detailed briefing by Board Chairman of the Helwan Company for Engineering Industries Ahmed Shoukry along with various work teams.
He underlined the need to strictly adhere to project timelines and insisted on full compliance with safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment and following occupational health and safety guidelines to safeguard employees and ensure a secure working environment. The minister stressed the importance of attracting more investment, especially as the industrial sector currently enjoys significant support from the political leadership.
