Indian Ambassador Highlights Egypt as Key Gateway to Africa and Europe

Cairo: Indian Ambassador in Cairo, Suresh K. Reddy, emphasized Egypt's strategic geographical position, identifying it as a vital gateway to Africa and Europe. According to State Information Service Egypt, Ambassador Reddy expressed India's interest in boosting tourism by attracting approximately one million Indian tourists to Egypt. This initiative aims to enhance tourism and promote the exchange of visits between the two nations. During an interview with Nile News Channel, Reddy highlighted the robust strategic partnership between Egypt and India, which is reinforced by the political leadership of both countries. He elaborated that this partnership spans various sectors, including political, economic, health, and investment domains. Reddy mentioned the recent visit by Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, to India during the inaugural Egyptian-Indian Strategic Dialogue, as well as reciprocal visits by India's health minister to Egypt. These visits under score the strong bilateral relations and mutual commitment to further development. Reddy also noted that over 70 Indian companies have recently visited Egypt to explore opportunities for joint cooperation. Indian investments in Egypt have surpassed $5 billion, with more than 60 companies and factories operating in the Egyptian market. He emphasized that Indian companies are drawn to invest in Egypt due to the country's stable security and political climate.
