Cairo: The Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) has released a new issue of its peer-reviewed quarterly journal, Industrial Prospects, featuring research and analysis on the latest developments shaping the industrial sector in Egypt and worldwide.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the publication examines major trends in manufacturing, technology, and industrial policy through research papers, international reports, and global industrial indicators. The latest issue focuses on the impact of climate policies, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, green manufacturing, and global supply chains.

One study within the journal examines how the European Union's climate regulations, including the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), are reshaping global manufacturing and creating new challenges and opportunities for low-carbon industries. Another paper explores the role of advanced technologies in sustainable shipbuilding, examining innovations aimed at improving efficiency, reducing emissions, and supporting environmentally sustainable maritime industries.

The journal also reviews international reports on smart manufacturing, artificial intelligence, supply chain transformation, and industrial policy, alongside research from the International Labor Organization (ILO), which notes that manufacturing generated 16.5% of global GDP and 57.5% of global trade in 2024.

The publication further reveals that the global artificial intelligence market is projected to grow from $189 billion in 2023 to $4.8 trillion by 2033, driven by rising investment, technological innovation, and government support. Additionally, the issue examines the semiconductor industry, citing projections that global semiconductor sales will reach a record $975 billion in 2026, fueled by rapid growth in artificial intelligence infrastructure and demand for advanced chips.
