Cairo: Health Minister and Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development Khaled Abdel Ghaffar emphasized the need for proactive communication policies to tackle misinformation, highlighting the importance of transparency and early public engagement, particularly as seasonal rumors resurface during winter and the start of the school year.
According to State Information Service Egypt, during a visit to the ministry's media observatory in the new administrative capital, Abdel Ghaffar reviewed the mechanisms in place for monitoring misinformation. He instructed the team to utilize advanced tools that facilitate faster and more accurate detection and analysis of misleading content.
Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, Assistant Minister for Media and official spokesperson, stated that the observatory operates continuously to track content released through media outlets and social platforms. The team is responsible for verifying information and issuing prompt clarifications to maintain public awareness and strengthen trust in the healthcare system.
