Cairo: Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar has directed Deputy Minister Amr Kandil to visit the victims of a recent traffic accident in Ismailia to assess their health conditions, following President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives. The accident, which involved two trucks transporting workers, occurred in the Ismailia Governorate on Tuesday.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Deputy Minister Kandil visited the injured at several hospitals affiliated with the Healthcare Authority in Ismailia Governorate. These visits included the Medical Complex, Abu Khalifa Hospital, and Qassasin Hospital. Kandil reviewed the victims' medical reports, assessed the availability of medical specialties, medicines, and supplies, and ensured that the injured were receiving comprehensive medical care. He also met with the victims' families to reassure them and address their concerns.

Health and Population Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar reported that as of 4 a.m. Wednesday, the accident resulted in 18 fatalities. Additionally, 17 injured individuals were receiving medical care at Healthcare Authority hospitals, while 13 others had been discharged after showing improvement. The Ministry expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
