Cairo: Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar approved offering the first natural childbirth free of charge for every woman at hospitals affiliated with the ministry's curative sector across all governorates.According to State Information Service Egypt, the decision is part of the state's efforts to improve maternal and child health, promote safe medical practices, and ease financial burdens on citizens while supporting women's right to comprehensive and safe healthcare.The Health Ministry stated that the initiative aligns with its strategy to encourage natural childbirth as the preferred medical option in uncomplicated cases, given its proven health benefits for both mother and child. It also aims to reduce complications associated with unnecessary cesarean deliveries.The ministry emphasized that public hospitals are fully equipped to handle such cases, adhering to the highest quality and safety standards. Trained medical teams and necessary equipment will be available to ensure proper and safe service delivery.It was stressed that the decision applies to all governorates without exception, ensuring equitable access to healthcare services. This move reflects the state's ongoing commitment to strengthening the healthcare system and advancing services related to women's health.
