Cairo: Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar engaged in discussions with a World Bank delegation to explore existing cooperation frameworks and potential future partnerships aimed at supporting Egypt's health sector. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the healthcare system and improve service quality for citizens.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Ministry Spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar stated that the discussions covered ongoing and prospective joint projects. The talks emphasized the alignment between the Ministry's and the World Bank's visions for healthcare system development, local manufacturing of medicines and medical supplies, and partnerships with the private sector to provide advanced treatments.

The dialogue also included a review of the project components supporting the Universal Health Insurance System's implementation, improvements in hospital and health unit infrastructure, and the equipping of facilities in targeted governorates for the upcoming phases.

Moreover, the integration of university hospitals into the system was discussed to ensure the provision of high-quality healthcare. The meeting also considered Indonesia's experience in universal health coverage, focusing on identifying best practices in managing large-scale health systems, investment model development, and implementing self-operation mechanisms and public-private partnerships.

A planned visit to Indonesia is being coordinated with the World Bank to gain insights from its experience, enhance Egyptian healthcare personnel's capabilities, and apply high-quality standards.
