Cairo: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs is closely monitoring the conditions of Egyptian citizens in the region, as well as the status of the Egyptian missions in Tehran and Tel Aviv, in light of the rapidly unfolding developments and the current military escalation in the region. Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a series of contacts on Saturday with heads of Egyptian missions in the region to ensure the safety of Egyptian community members.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty directed that the highest alert level be raised at Egyptian missions and that continuous, round-the-clock monitoring of the conditions of Egyptian nationals continue to ensure the provision of all necessary support and consular care. The Ministry urged members of Egyptian communities in the region to exercise caution and vigilance, maintain continuous contact with Egyptian embassies and consulates, and adhere to all instructions issued by the authorities of the countries in which they reside.
Through the Egyptian embassies and consulates in the region, the Ministry has reassured itself regarding the conditions of Egyptians there, noting that no injuries or casualties have been reported among them so far amid the ongoing military escalation. The Ministry will continue to closely follow developments.
