Cairo:The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Expatriates has launched the "Waai – Your Guide to Understanding Statements" campaign to elucidate the concept of the "temporal and spatial division of Al-Aqsa Mosque."
According to State Information Service Egypt, the campaign, which entered its third day on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, aims to provide clarity on the term. This term refers to the allocation of specific times or separate areas of the mosque for different religious groups, a practice that contradicts existing arrangements for the site's management.
The campaign emphasizes that Egypt firmly opposes any such division of Al-Aqsa Mosque, asserting it as a sole place of worship for Muslims, consistent with the established and internationally recognized historical and legal status quo.
Initiated on Monday, the awareness campaign includes a series of educational posts designed to simplify diplomatic terms and concepts found in official statements. This effort seeks to enhance public understanding of foreign affairs and the positions held by Egypt on various international issues.
