Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty praised the pivotal role played by the Press Syndicate in defending national causes and interests and raising public awareness of the challenges facing the Egyptian state.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty stressed the ministry's commitment to strengthening institutional cooperation and coordination with the Press Syndicate. This collaboration aims to inform public opinion about the determinants of Egyptian foreign policy and its positions on various regional and international issues.
The remarks were made during Abdelatty's meeting with Press Syndicate Chairman Khaled El-Balshy on Monday, August 17, 2026. The meeting, which also included the syndicate's Head of the Arab and Foreign Affairs Committee Mohamed El-Shazly, focused on prospects for joint cooperation and enhancing communication with the national press.
The discussions highlighted the important role of the Press Syndicate and national media institutions in showcasing Egypt's efforts and achievements across different fields. These efforts help present an objective picture of the challenges and risks facing the country, thus contributing to public awareness and supporting national interests.
El-Balshy expressed appreciation for the existing cooperation with the Foreign Ministry, highlighting its commitment to communication with the syndicate. He also expressed a desire to expand joint cooperation in the future.
Both parties agreed to organize regular events, meetings, and awareness-raising sessions on Egyptian foreign policy and its regional and international positions. Additionally, they plan to implement joint training and capacity-building programs.
At the end of the meeting, the Press Syndicate Chairman presented a shield to the Foreign Minister in recognition of the ministry's role in advancing Egyptian interests, providing consular services, and strengthening ties with civil society institutions and professional syndicates.
