Foreign Minister and UAE Counterpart Discuss Regional Developments

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty received a phone call on Monday, September 14, 2026, from UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. During the call, the two ministers discussed the latest regional developments, particularly the situation in the Strait of Hormuz and developments in Yemen amid the recent escalation.

According to State Information Service Egypt, they emphasized the importance of addressing the challenges facing the region and their implications for security in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb. The ministers highlighted the necessity of respecting international law and safeguarding the security and freedom of international navigation. They also agreed on the importance of intensifying efforts to contain tensions and prevent the conflict from widening, aiming to enhance security and stability in the region.
