Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty received a phone call from US Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs Massad Boulos, during which Abdelatty called on him to intensify international efforts to de-escalate regional tensions.According to State Information Service Egypt, Boulos praised Egypt's pivotal and sincere role in managing regional crises, addressing escalating challenges, and opening communication channels to ease tensions and support ongoing mediation efforts. The conversation reflects continued coordination and consultation between Cairo and Washington on regional and international issues.Boulos conveyed US President Donald Trump's greetings and appreciation to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, commending his leadership in the region and his ongoing efforts to promote calm and reinforce regional security and stability, particularly regarding the Iranian file. The discussion also covered the latest developments in regional milit ary escalation.Abdelatty stressed the need for coordinated regional and international efforts to de-escalate tensions and prevent further slide toward chaos and conflict. He highlighted the severe economic repercussions of continued hostilities on both the Egyptian and global economy, including impacts on international navigation, supply chains, oil and food prices, and inflationary pressures.The call further addressed developments in Sudan, where the two sides discussed the importance of reaching a temporary humanitarian truce to lay the groundwork for a ceasefire and initiate a Sudanese-owned political dialogue. Abdelatty stressed support for the Sudanese state and its national institutions, underscoring the need to distinguish between legitimate state bodies and illegal armed militias.Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's rejection of any attempts to undermine Sudan's unity or territorial integrity.
