Egypt Sends 1,000 Tons of Urgent Humanitarian Aid to Lebanon

Beirut: Egypt sent urgent relief aid to Lebanon to meet the basic needs of the Lebanese people and alleviate the pressures of internal displacement which affected nearly one million Lebanese citizens. The aid arrived in Beirut, on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, aboard a relief shipment.

According to State Information Service Egypt, this initiative aligns with directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to provide comprehensive support to Lebanon amid rapidly evolving developments and severe humanitarian conditions. In a statement on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Expatriates emphasized that Egypt's efforts were coordinated with civil society and non-governmental organizations to prepare and dispatch approximately 1,000 tons of aid.

The shipment included food baskets, blankets, shelter supplies, as well as medicines and medical equipment, enabling Lebanese authorities to address the health impacts of the ongoing crisis and compensate for gaps in the country's medical sector. The national effort was spearheaded by the Tahya Misr Fund, with the participation of the Egyptian Red Crescent, House of Zakat and Charity, the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and the Ministry of Health and Population in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Egyptians Expatriates.

This action is part of Egypt's diplomatic and humanitarian efforts and reflects its steadfast support to Lebanon across all areas. Egypt also reaffirmed its rejection of repeated Israeli attacks and incursions into Lebanese territory, which constitute a violation of international law and UN Security Council Resolution 1701, infringing upon Lebanon's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national unity.

Moreover, Egypt reiterated its full support for the efforts of Lebanese state institutions to assert authority over the entirety of their national territory and called for an immediate halt to Israeli violations and attacks.
