Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty emphasized Egypt's unwavering support for the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza during a meeting with its head, Ali Shaath. Abdelatty conveyed Egypt's commitment to assisting the committee's chairman and members as they navigate their responsibilities during this critical phase.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty congratulated Shaath on his new role and expressed hope for his success in leading the committee responsible for the administration of the Gaza Strip. The Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tamim Khallaf, noted that Abdelatty highlighted the committee's crucial role in managing the daily needs of Gaza's population, paving the way for the Palestinian Authority's full return in line with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803.
The foreign minister lauded the formation of the committee and the expertise of its members, which he believes will ensure effective institutional performance and administrative stability during the transitional period. He reiterated Egypt's commitment to supporting the Palestinian people through this challenging phase in their cause.
Abdelatty pointed out the importance of completing the necessary steps to implement the outstanding requirements of the second phase of US President Donald Trump's plan. This includes forming and deploying an international stabilization force, continuing humanitarian aid to the strip, and preparing for early recovery and reconstruction efforts.
He stressed the need to maintain the unity of Palestinian territory, ensuring connectivity between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and achieving a comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue. Abdelatty firmly rejected any attempts to divide the Gaza Strip.
Shaath, in response, expressed his deep gratitude to Egypt's president and government for their steadfast support of the Palestinian cause and for the political and humanitarian assistance provided during this pivotal phase.
