Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty affirmed Egypt's full solidarity with Kuwait, stressing that Egypt stands firmly alongside Kuwait in the face of any threats. He made the remarks on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, during a phone call with his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, upon directives from the Egyptian president, to follow up on developments in Kuwait in light of the current situation.
According to State Information Service Egypt, during the call, Abdelatty listened to a briefing from his Kuwaiti counterpart on the firm security measures undertaken by Kuwaiti state institutions to deter the malicious Iranian attacks and decisively confront any attempts to undermine its internal security or tamper with its resources and stability.
Abdelatty renewed Egypt's strong condemnation of these attacks, stressing that they constitute a blatant violation of Kuwait's sovereignty and a clear breach of the principles of international law and good-neighborly relations. He also reaffirmed Egypt's firm position that the security and stability of Kuwait represent a fundamental pillar and an integral part of Egypt's national security, reflecting the unity of destiny and the deep-rooted historical ties binding the two countries and their peoples.
