FM Meets Prominent Egyptians of Armenian Descent

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty received on Thursday, September 17, 2026, prominent Egyptians of Armenian descent, highlighting their longstanding contributions to the building of the Egyptian state.According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting comes as part of efforts to recognize the enduring contributions of Egyptians of Armenian descent, who have played a prominent role in Egypt's diplomatic history. Poghos Yusufian became the first official to head Egypt's foreign affairs institution, followed by a number of prominent figures of Armenian descent, most notably Nubar Pasha, who held the positions of Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.Their contributions reflect the historic and national role played by Egyptians of Armenian descent in contribution to serving the Egyptian State.
