Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty engaged in a phone call with Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria, to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues of common interest.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministers reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing Egyptian-Algerian relations by building on the outcomes of the ninth session of the Egyptian-Algerian Joint Higher Committee. Their focus is on strengthening cooperation in economic, trade, and investment sectors and exploring greater partnership opportunities between the two nations.

The conversation also covered recent regional developments and their implications on Arab national security. The ministers highlighted the importance of unity and understanding among Arab states and the need for increased consultation and coordination to address shared challenges and ensure regional security and stability.

Topics such as the Palestinian cause, the situation in Sudan and the Sahel region, and developments in Libya were also discussed. The ministers emphasized the significance of continued coordination within the Tripartite Mechanism of Libya's neighboring countries to support the political settlement process and maintain Libya's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
