FM Heads to Riyadh for Crucial Arab and Islamic Meeting on Regional Tensions

Riyadh: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty headed on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, to Riyadh to participate in a consultative ministerial meeting of foreign ministers from Arab and Islamic countries, hosted by Saudi Arabia.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister's participation highlights Egypt's commitment to enhancing joint coordination with allied and friendly nations to formulate a cohesive strategy in response to current challenges.

The meeting will focus on addressing the significant military escalation in the region and ongoing efforts to reduce tensions. Additionally, discussions will include the future trajectory of the region and the essential arrangements needed to restore stability, secure national security, and prevent the region from descending into further chaos.
