Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr AbdelAtty held a phone conversation on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, with Kaja Kallas, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, to discuss regional developments.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Ambassador Tameem Khelifa, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced that the call centered on exchanging views about the current situation in the Gaza Strip. Minister Abdel Atty provided the European official with updates on the ongoing ceasefire negotiations in Gaza and the efforts leading to the release of hostages and prisoners.
The conversation also covered Egypt's collaborative actions with Qatar and the United States, highlighting the need for intensified international efforts to establish a lasting ceasefire and ensure the continuous delivery of humanitarian and relief aid to the region.
