FM Engages in Strategic Talks with Omani and Iranian Counterparts

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Egyptians Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held two phone calls with his Omani and Iranian counterparts, Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi and Abbas Araghchi, on Monday. The discussions centered on regional developments, particularly the fourth round of negotiations between the US and Iran regarding the Iranian nuclear file, which took place in Muscat on Sunday.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty was updated on the progress of the talks between the US and Iran. He acknowledged the dedication of both parties to pursuing a diplomatic resolution. Abdelatty also lauded Oman's mediation efforts and emphasized Egypt's unwavering support for initiatives that aim to achieve peaceful resolutions through dialogue and diplomacy.

Abdelatty expressed optimism that the negotiations would help bridge differences and contribute to reducing tensions in the region, thereby enhancing regional security and stability. Additionally, he shared perspectives with US President's Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff on the US-Iran negotiations, as well as on developments concerning the Gaza Strip and Ukraine.
