Abu dhabi: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said on Saturday, December 13, 2025, that fully implementing US President Donald Trump's peace plan remains crucial, emphasizing the need for progress to its second phase in line with UN Security Council Resolution 2803. He also reiterated Egypt's firm rejection of any attempt to displace the Palestinian people from their land.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the remarks came during a meeting with Nickolay E. Mladenov, Director General of the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy and former UN special coordinator for the Middle East peace process, held on the sidelines of the Sir Bani Yas Forum. During the talks, they also addressed regional developments, the situation in the Palestinian territories, and international efforts to end the war and revive a political process.
For his part, Abdelatty stated that stabilizing the situation requires forming an international stabilization force, creating a Palestinian technocratic committee to manage the transitional phase, and the preservation of Palestinian territorial unity. Additionally, the top diplomat warned against rising settler violence and said UNRWA remains indispensable to humanitarian and stability efforts. Mladenov expressed appreciation for Egypt's role in supporting regional stability and peace efforts.
