FM and Brazilian Counterpart Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties and Addressing Regional Issues

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty engaged in a phone call with Mauro Vieira, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil, to discuss enhancing bilateral relations and addressing regional and international issues of mutual concern.According to State Information Service Egypt, Minister Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's appreciation for the longstanding friendship with Brazil and praised Brazil's support for Palestinian rights. He emphasized the importance of boosting economic, trade, and investment cooperation, aiming to open new markets for Egyptian products in Brazil under the framework of South-South cooperation to support national economies and promote shared development.The conversation also touched upon recent developments in the Gaza Strip. Minister Abdelatty stressed the necessity of implementing the obligations of the second phase of the U.S. plan and reiterated Egypt's support for the National Committee for the Administration of the Gaza Strip. This transitional framework is intended to manage daily affairs in Gaza and facilitate the return of the Palestinian Authority's responsibilities.Additionally, Minister Abdelatty emphasized the need for the swift deployment of an international stabilization force to monitor the ceasefire and ensure the flow of humanitarian assistance, preparing for early recovery and reconstruction.Regarding the Iranian situation, the Foreign Minister affirmed Egypt's commitment to de-escalation and the necessity for intensified efforts to address regional tensions diplomatically. He reiterated Egypt's dedication to reaching a consensual settlement of the Iranian nuclear issue, considering all parties' concerns to enhance regional and international security and stability.In response, the Brazilian Foreign Minister commended Egypt's pivotal role in supporting regional peace and security and expressed Brazil's commitment to ongoing coordination and consultation with Egypt in the future.
