Doha: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdelatty affirmed Egypt's unwavering support for preserving Syria's unity and territorial integrity, as well as supporting its national establishments to carry out their duties and responsibilities in protecting the country's stability and safeguarding the rights and resources of the Syrian people.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty made the remarks during a meeting with Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Hassan al Shaibani, on the sidelines of their participation in the Doha Forum currently being held in the Qatari capital.

During the meeting, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's total rejection of any Israeli aggression targeting Syrian territories, according to Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tamim Khallaf. He warned against the danger of exploiting the current situation to justify interferences or practices that undermine Syrian sovereignty.

Abdelatty emphasized that Egypt continues its communications with regional and international parties to emphasize the necessity of respecting Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity as well as rejecting any attempts to compromise its security or stability, the spokesman added.
