Finance Minister Highlights Continued Efforts to Develop Customs System

Cairo: Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk affirmed that his ministry will continue intensifying efforts to develop the customs system and improve the level of service in a way that contributes to facilitation, boosts trade movement, and enhances the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy. This initiative emphasizes building a larger and deeper partnership with the business community to attract more domestic and foreign private-sector investment inflows.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Kouchouk expressed happiness at the Customs Authority's achievement of securing second place in the Innovative Government Initiative category of the Egypt Government Excellence Award for the Logistics Centers Initiative. This recognition highlights the initiative's role in improving customs services and reducing clearance time.

Kouchouk also voiced appreciation for the efforts exerted by customs employees in simplifying procedures and facilitating matters for partners through electronic solutions. The minister emphasized that these efforts are crucial for stimulating trade and enhancing the efficiency of the customs system in Egypt.
