ETA Head Asserts Importance of Italian Market in Tourism Growth

Cairo: CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Authority (ETA) Ahmed Youssef asserted the strategic importance of the Italian market for Egyptian tourism, noting that it is one of the primary markets for the Egyptian destination. He highlighted that the current year has witnessed remarkable growth in tourism demand from Italy. "This growth is further supported by an increase in charter flight traffic to Egypt's coastal destinations, positively impacting tourist arrival rates and contributed to a noticeable rise in Italian visitor numbers compared to the previous year," he said.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities participated in organizing a professional international workshop in the city of La Thuile in northern Italy titled "Nati Ma'an". The event was held in coordination with the Italian tour operator Going, one of the most prominent operators in the Italian market.

Approximately 800 participants from the Italian tourism sector attended, including 30 sector professionals. The workshop aimed to highlight Egypt's competitive advantages, as well as its diverse tourism offerings and products.
