Electricity Minister Mahmoud Esmat Inspects Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority Complex in Inshas

Inshas: Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Esmat conducted an inspection of the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority (EAEA) complex in Inshas, which includes the nuclear research center and various other laboratories and research centers. This visit is part of a series of ongoing inspections aimed at improving performance and leveraging the expertise of human resources in affiliated research and scientific institutions.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Ministry of Electricity outlined that these tours are designed to enhance the work of affiliated sectors, maximize returns, and support technology transfer and localization, aligning with the state's vision to reduce imports and boost exports. During his visit, Minister Esmat was briefed on several applied projects, including one focused on concentrating phosphorus pentoxide from phosphate ore extraction waste. This project employs a new technology to increase ore concentration and convert it into pure phosphoric acid for industrial and agricultural use.

Esmat also reviewed projects related to the use of glauconite ore and the production of ferrosilicon for metal industries, and an innovative desalination technology for saline water. This green technology, already used to purify water from Ain El-Sira Lake, involves a two-stage process that is environmentally friendly and economical. The minister further examined a project using geopolymer compounds as an alternative to traditional cement materials, highlighting their economic and environmental benefits.

At the end of his visit, Esmat emphasized his commitment to supporting applied projects and creating necessary economic entities in collaboration with state authorities. He praised the Atomic Energy Authority's expertise in implementing scientific and research projects, particularly in medical sciences, agriculture, and industrial technology localization. Esmat also reiterated the Authority's vital role in advancing the peaceful applications of nuclear energy.
