El-Sisi and Putin to Witness Key Milestone in El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant Project

Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Russian President Vladimir Putin are set to witness a landmark moment for the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. The leaders will participate via video conference in the installation of the reactor pressure vessel for the plant's first nuclear unit, a significant step towards the plant's completion. The event will also include the signing of a nuclear fuel procurement order.

According to State Information Service Egypt, this event is timed to coincide with Egypt's fifth annual Nuclear Energy Day, celebrated every November 19th. This day marks the anniversary of the governmental agreement between Egypt and Russia for the construction and operation of the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant, symbolizing the launch of Egypt's peaceful nuclear energy program.

The joint participation of President El-Sisi and President Putin underscores the robust strategic relations between Egypt and Russia. This collaboration is part of a series of large-scale projects that have significantly impacted developmental progress, beginning with the High Dam in the 1960s and now continuing with the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant.

President El-Sisi is expected to deliver a speech to commemorate this historic occasion.
