Cairo: Egypt's top 15 food export markets accounted for about 60% of the country's total food industry exports in the January-July period, worth $2.67 billion of the sector's total $4.47 billion in exports, the Food Export Council (FEC) said on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Saudi Arabia was Egypt's largest food export market during the period, with exports worth $363 million, followed by the United States at $290 million. Libya ranked third with $196 million, followed by Jordan at $194 million, the Netherlands at $189 million, Spain at $188 million, Sudan at $183 million, and Algeria at $159 million.

Egypt's food industry exports also reached $156 million to Iraq, $142 million each to Palestine and China, $135 million to Italy, $126 million to the United Arab Emirates, $108 million to the United Kingdom, and $99 million to Germany.

The council said the figures reflected the growing geographical diversification of Egyptian food exports across Arab, European, U.S. and Chinese markets.
