Egypt’s Government Intensifies Efforts to Bolster National Industry

Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly emphasized the government's dedicated focus on advancing the national industry, a crucial pillar for sustainable economic development. He outlined the government's comprehensive strategy to boost industrial production by fostering a conducive business environment, simplifying procedures for local and foreign investors, promoting innovation and technology, and implementing an investment plan to fortify domestic manufacturing across multiple sectors.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouly made these remarks during a meeting held on Monday, August 4th, 2025, to evaluate ongoing efforts to localize industries in Egypt. The meeting included key figures such as Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel el Wazir, Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah el Din, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Public Business Sector Mohamed Shimi, and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan el Khatib, alongside other relevant ministry and authority officials.

Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed el Homosany stated that the meeting addressed the various initiatives and measures already in place to support the industrial sector and overcome its challenges. It also focused on creating a fully integrated industrial environment aimed at boosting production efficiency, achieving superior quality standards, and enhancing competitiveness in line with global benchmarks.

The discussions also delved into current efforts to fortify the national industry, aiming for economic development, self-sufficiency, and reduced reliance on imports, aligning with Egypt's 2030 National Industrial Strategy.
