Cairo: Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk confirmed that Egypt's public procurement framework has received international recognition in a report by the BRICS New Development Bank. The report praised the alignment of Egypt's Public Procurement Law with global best practices and stated that the country's procurement procedures are compatible with the bank's funding standards. Kouchouk stressed the importance of discussing the report's recommendations at a two-day workshop in Cairo, organized in coordination with the New Development Bank and the General Authority for Government Services.According to State Information Service Egypt, Kouchouk emphasized the government's commitment to fostering institutional cooperation with international partners and enhancing the investment climate. He noted that developing the public procurement system is key to strengthening public-private partnerships. He also announced that the government is close to finalizing the new electronic procurement platform, which aims to streamline procedures and attract more private investment in a business-friendly environment.
