Egypt’s Frozen Vegetable Exports Reach $207 Million in 2025

Cairo:Egypt's exports of frozen vegetables excluding potatoes, leguminous vegetables, spinach, New Zealand spinach, orache, and sweet corn, showed strong performance in 2025. This growth was driven by a sustained increase in exports over recent years.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Food Industries Export Council reported that Egypt's exports of this category reached approximately $207 million in 2025, with a total export volume of around 171,000 tons. Egypt ranked eighth globally among exporting countries, contributing about 4% to the total global exports.

The export growth is evidenced by a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15% in both export value and volume from 2020 to 2025. In 2025, the export value rose by 3% compared to 2024, indicating a positive trend.

The council highlighted the diversity of Egypt's export markets for these frozen vegetables, which include Arab, American, and European regions. In 2025, Saudi Arabia was the largest importer, with exports valued at approximately $32 million, representing 16% of Egypt's total exports of the product.

Following Saudi Arabia, the United States imported $30 million (15%), Italy $19 million (9%), Spain $13 million (6%), and Russia $11 million (5%). Together, these top five markets accounted for around $105 million, or 51% of the total exports in 2025. The remaining exports were distributed across various other markets.

This breadth of markets underscores a relatively diversified export base, alongside consistent growth in export value and volume, which bodes well for future expansion in existing markets and entry into new destinations.
