Egyptian Red Crescent Sends 83rd Humanitarian Convoy to Gaza

Cairo: The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) dispatched its 83rd 'Zad Al-Izza' convoy to the besieged Gaza Strip early Sunday, November 30, 2025. This convoy, carrying numerous trucks loaded with urgent humanitarian aid, is part of ERC's ongoing mission to serve as the national mechanism for coordinating aid delivery to Gaza.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the convoy transported approximately 10,500 tons of urgent humanitarian aid. This aid package included more than 5,500 tons of food baskets and flour, over 2,800 tons of essential medical and relief supplies, and more than 1,270 tons of petroleum products, as stated by the ERC.

Additionally, the convoy included essential winter necessities to help alleviate the suffering of the people in Gaza. This comprised about 32,000 blankets, approximately 91,400 pieces of winter clothing, more than 1,150 mattresses, and over 11,900 tents to provide shelter for those affected.

Since the crisis began, the Egyptian Red Crescent has served as the primary coordinating body for aid delivery to Gaza. Despite facing numerous challenges, the Rafah border crossing on the Egyptian side has remained partially open, facilitating the continuous flow of humanitarian assistance.

The ERC has ensured full logistical readiness across all its centers, supporting the steady delivery of aid. To date, the organization has sent more than half a million tons of humanitarian and relief aid, thanks to the dedication of over 35,000 Egyptian Red Crescent volunteers.
