New York:Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly emphasized promising prospects for enhancing cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in fields such as education, culture, science, technology transfer, and artificial intelligence. He also highlighted UNESCO's pivotal role in safeguarding heritage.According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouly made these remarks during a meeting with UNESCO Director-General Khaled El-Enany. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, where Madbouly represented President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.Madbouly expressed Egypt's pride in having an Egyptian official like El-Enany in a prestigious international position and affirmed Egypt's ongoing support for him. He noted that El-Enany's success is a success for Egypt, Africa, the Arab world, and the Global South. Madbouly also commended El-Enany's efforts in advancing administrative reform and restructuring at UNESCO to streng then its mandate and objectives.El-Enany, in turn, expressed appreciation for Egypt's support and emphasized the country's positive role as a partner in the organization's agenda. He praised Egypt's efforts in advancing education, culture, and science.The Director-General outlined his vision for UNESCO's priorities, focusing on enhancing its ability to respond to global challenges, especially amid geopolitical tensions and conflicts affecting education, culture, science, and media. He proposed areas of cooperation for joint projects with Egypt, highlighting opportunities for future collaboration.
