Bangkok:Egyptians living abroad are viewed as an extension of their homeland, contributing significantly to Egypt's international image and standing, according to Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty made these remarks during a meeting with the Egyptian community in Thailand as part of his visit to Bangkok. The meeting, attended by Egyptian Ambassador to Thailand Hala Youssef, emphasized the importance of Egyptians in Thailand in fostering ties between the two nations.

The Foreign Ministry remains committed to maintaining connections with Egyptian communities worldwide, protecting their interests, and facilitating consular services. Abdelatty highlighted ongoing efforts to modernize these services through digitalization, making procedures simpler and more efficient. Initiatives such as 'Your Home in Egypt' and 'Open Your Account in Egypt' were also noted.

The minister commended the participation of the Egyptian community in the seventh edition of the Conference of Egyptians Abroad, held in August 2026, and encouraged continued involvement in future events. He described the conference as a critical platform for dialogue between Egyptians abroad and state institutions.

Abdelatty also engaged with community members, listening to their views and proposals on various issues, underscoring the importance of sustained dialogue and enhanced communication channels to address their needs and aspirations.
