Egyptian Boxer Nabila Alaa el Din Reaches Historic Mediterranean Games Final

Cairo: Egyptian boxer Nabila Alaa el Din has reached the final of the boxing competition at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games, becoming the first Egyptian female boxer to reach a Mediterranean Games final and securing another medal for Egypt.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Alaa el Din will fight for the gold medal, while becoming only the second Egyptian female boxer to win a Mediterranean Games medal, following Yomna Ayyad's bronze at the previous edition. Egypt has so far won 15 medals at the Games-five golds, four silvers, and six bronzes-remaining the top Arab nation in the medal standings.

The 20th Mediterranean Games are being held in Taranto, Italy, through September 3, with 3,803 athletes from 26 countries competing.
