Cairo: Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani emphasized the significance of implementing the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution concerning Gaza during a phone conversation. They highlighted the necessity of enabling the international stabilization force to execute its mandate, which would aid in consolidating the ceasefire and ensuring security for the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministers explored ways to strengthen bilateral relations and reviewed the current developments in the Gaza Strip as well as the latest situation in Sudan. Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tamim Khallaf noted that both ministers praised the strong relations between their countries and affirmed their mutual commitment to enhancing bilateral ties and expanding cooperation.
Abdelatty expressed Egypt's dedication to continuing support for economic and investment relations with Italy, emphasizing the enhancement of trade exchange between the two nations. He also expressed interest in boosting cooperation with Italy in the fields of energy, renewable energy, and natural gas, given Egypt's resources and infrastructure capabilities.
Furthermore, Abdelatty stressed the importance of convening the joint committee meeting at the earliest opportunity, under the leadership of the foreign ministers from both countries.
