Egyptian Ambassador to Russia Presents Credentials to President Putin

Cairo: Egyptian Ambassador Hamdi Shaaban to the Russian Federation, presented his credentials to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday 15/1/2026. During his remarks at the ceremony for the presentation of credentials by several new ambassadors, Russian President Vladimir Putin underscored the special nature of relations between Russia and Egypt, describing Egypt as one of the most important countries in the Middle East and North Africa.

According to State Information Service Egypt, speaking during the ceremony, Putin said relations between Egypt and Russia are based on mutual trust within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement signed in 2018. Putin highlighted Russia's eagerness to deepen the strategic partnership with Egypt and continue the implementation of large-scale joint projects. He particularly mentioned the El Dabaa nuclear power plant, describing it as a landmark in the course of bilateral cooperation.
