Egyptian Ambassador Invites Zimbabwean Health Minister to Cairo Health Conference

Harare: Egypt's Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Salwa Mowafy, met with Zimbabwe's Minister of Health and Child Welfare, Douglas T. Mombeshora, to discuss future cooperation in healthcare, emphasizing Egypt's experience in the sector.According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting included representatives from the World Health Organization, the UN Population Fund, and the UN Resident Coordinator's office in Harare. The discussions focused on potential collaborations with the Zimbabwean government and UN agencies in Zambia. Ambassador Mowafy invited Minister Mombeshora to the Africa Health ExCon 2025 in Cairo, highlighting Egypt's innovations like the '100 Million Health' initiative and mobile clinics that have successfully tackled diseases such as hepatitis C and polio.UN representatives expressed strong support for the proposed trilateral cooperation, aiming to enhance South-South partnerships through their existing programs.
