Egyptian Ambassador Engages with Expats in Cape Town on Consular Services

Cape town: Egypt's Ambassador to South Africa Ahmed Sherif met with members of the Egyptian expat community in Cape Town this week to discuss their needs for consular services. The meeting aimed to address and enhance the consular support provided by the embassy to Egyptians living in the region.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Sherif reviewed the consular services offered by the Egyptian Embassy in Pretoria. These services cater to Egyptians residing not only in South Africa but also in Botswana and Lesotho. The ambassador highlighted that the embassy is actively processing requests for National ID card renewals and data updates, which are then forwarded to the relevant authorities in Cairo.

Sherif announced that a consular mission to Cape Town is being organized. This mission aims to deliver on-site services to citizens in nearby areas, ensuring that members of the expat community have easier access to necessary consular assistance. He reiterated the embassy's commitment to maintaining open and accessible communication channels, enabling Egyptian expats across South Africa, Botswana, and Lesotho to benefit from these services.
