Cairo: EgyptAir head of the Commercial Sector Amr Adawy and the company's Network Planning team engaged in discussions with London Stansted Airport management regarding the potential launch of direct flights between Cairo and London Stansted starting in 2027. These discussions occurred on the sidelines of the 2026 El Alamein International Airshow (EIAS), Egypt's flagship aerospace and defense event, held from September 7 to 10.According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting is a part of EgyptAir's strategy to expand its presence in the UK and enhance its international route network. The two parties explored the possibility of operating direct flights between Cairo and London Stansted, which would strengthen EgyptAir's market position in the UK and provide passengers with additional travel options.The proposed Cairo-London Stansted route aligns with EgyptAir's efforts to expand its international network and cater to the increasing demand for air travel between Egypt and the United Kingdom. This i nitiative is also expected to bolster the national carrier's competitiveness and broaden the range of travel options available to passengers.
